A Prayer for Reopening

The reopening in phases has begun.
This small glimmer of hope comes with worry.
Will the Coronavirus spread?
Will businesses rebound and get on track?
How will churches navigate these decisions?
We intrepidly hope for the best.

Guide the government and medical leaders in wisdom.
Lead each organization making decisions to reopen.
May all leaders recognize Your presence in their meetings.
Teach to have a greater reliance on You.

During this transition time, help us to love our neighbors well.
We might not agree on everything.
Motivate us to use precaution and courage with others in mind.
Forgive us where we have judged harshly.
Give us insight into the fear, worry, and anxiety of others.

We lift up the kids and students at this time.
Help us to have meaningful discussions on trusting in You.
May they look back at this time and realize that You watched over us.
I pray that this next generation would find a greater faith in You through this pandemic.
For that to happen, it starts with us.

Lord, we acknowledge the future is in Your hands.
Align our hearts and mind to You through prayer.
Shepherd us through the process of reopening.

Amen
